Children
We love kids!
Children are full of bright eyes and broad smiles…ready to learn about God and His plan. What a great opportunity to instill value into their lives.
Ministering to children is a profound responsibility. While not considering ourselves replacements for you in fulfilling your responsibility of training your children, we nonetheless believe we can be a help to you and a blessing to your family.
In today’s world, ministering to children requires careful security to earn your trust. We have an annual program of screening all who work with children from birth to age 18 to assure that every CBC member who touches the life of your child is worthy of your trust.
Our Program
CBC is pleased to offer a viable and exciting ministry to our families. We are committed to work together, and support one another, by providing balanced children ministries. Our ministries, rather than taking the place of parents, are parents working together. We help one another in
nurturing our children as they develop:
- Mentally
- Physically
- Spiritually
- Socially
Throughout each of our ministry programs, we strive to grow our children in the likeness of Jesus Christ. He is our standard of behavior and belief.
Let’s make our children’s earliest church memories rich and meaningful!
Sunday School
Sunday School is an opportunity for families to help one another pass their faith to children from preschool age through age eleven. These children are
arranged in age-appropriate groupings where they learn God’s Word utilizing a “Through-the-Bible” revolving curriculum. The backbone of our curriculum is an excellent God-focused and family-unified study entitled “Generations of Grace.”
Sunday School meets weekly on Sundays from 9:00 to 9:45 am.
Children’s Church
For families who want their younger children in a children’s church — children through age 8 have special children’s church services which meet Sundays at 10:00 am (during our morning church service). On Sunday evenings many of our younger children learn to sit in church and worship with their parents in the auditorium. Of course, we have a nursery available for all our services.
Children Music Clubs
Happy kids sing! Our PeeWee Pirate (age 3-5) and Patch the Pirate (age 6-11) music clubs
meet Wednesdays for one hour beginning at 7:30 pm. These children choirs stress character and Bible-memory through a great music program. Their special music presentations are enjoyed in our adult worship services on Sunday mornings from time-to-time. Check out our PeeWee and Patch page.
Summer Camp
What would a hot summer be without camp? Kids love the hiking, sports, music, crafts, swimming and worship experiences that are all a part of summer camp. We take our kids to Rapidan Baptist Camp where they interact with Christian kids from other churches in a professional camp environment. www.camprapidan.com
Our Concern
Children reared in Christian homes and churches are abandoning the faith in record numbers. This is a grave concern. What can you, as a parent, do to help your children embrace Jesus Christ for life? We are committed to come alongside you to help you in your life’s most challenging responsibility – passing your faith to your children. We locate quality resources about child rearing and training, making them available to families via our bookstore.
What is Happening? — Understand the problem and map out a strategy that may save your children. What you can do as a parent to “Pass Your Faith” to your children.
Articles of Faith Catechism — Are you teaching your children what they need to know about God’s Word and what it contains? A Q&A booklet that matches CBC’s Articles of Faith.
Childhood to Adult Celebration Certificate — Skip adolescence! Prepare your children for adulthood. Here is the certificate we give to our children at age 12.
Christmas Story in Chronological Order — What little our children hear about Christmas sometimes confuses the story. Use the Bible to teach your children the real Christmas story!
Week of Jesus’ Passion in Chronological Order — Teach your family the events that took place during this action-packed week between Jesus victory ride into Jerusalem on Palm Sunday and His crucifixion later that week.
We’re Family Friendly!
At CBC we recognize that our children ministries cannot, and should not, replace dad and mom in passing your faith to your children. We encourage families to sit together, worship together and serve God together…in every service.
We believe that an important role of CBC is to minister to dads and moms — helping them and encouraging them to mentor their children in the faith every day. We have made a commitment to provide programs and ministries that build family cohesiveness.
In our Sunday morning and evening services you will find families sitting together in the auditorium. Children are observing their parents worshiping God. Families are singing together. We are passing our faith to our children!
On Sunday morning, families who choose to place their younger children in a “children’s church service” may do so. On Sunday evenings younger children worship with their family in the auditorium.
